While affirming that the concept of race is a biological illusion, she shared haiku by many poets that revealed the ways bias and power in our society, based on skin color, affects all of our lives.

Ruth presented a thorough review of Haiku through various artists and celebrated the haiku from diverse artists that was mostly overlooked by many in the white community - a wonderful presentation!
