Aaron Ishibashi, a student at USC's Thornton School of Music, composed an original classical musical composition for haiku poems written by Japanese-American poets Yajin Nakao, Senbinshi Takaoka, and Itaru Ina, which premiered at Haiku North America on Friday, August 15, 2013.

At the Haiku North America 2013 banquet, Michael Dylan Welch announced that 2015 conference would be held October 14-18, 2015 at Union College in Schenectady, New York. The organizers are members of the Route 9 Haiku Group which publishes the biannual anthology, Upstate Dim Sum. The Organizers are Hilary Tann, Yu Chang, John Stevenson, and Tom Clausen. Hilary Tann and Yu Chang both teach at Union College. The committee has prepared a promotional video, which was shown at the HNA 2013 banquet: http://vimeo.com/70412358 It has been wonderful to have Jessica Tremblay as our HNA 2013 Cartoonist-in-Residence. A big thanks to her for allowing us to feature her comics on our blog, in our twitter, and print them in our program book.
