2013 HAIKU NORTH AMERICA CONFERENCE
was held August 14-18, 2013
on board the historic Queen Mary ocean liner
permanently docked in Long Beach, California

w

2013  Conference

Picture
Poets will walk the decks where such celebrities and dignitaries as Fred Astaire and Winston Churchill once walked, while enjoying Southern California's climate and the companionship of their fellow haiku poets.

The Queen Mary has five restaurants on board, and there is easy tram access to downtown Long Beach.

As with past Haiku North America conferences, we are planning five days packed with haiku workshops, panels, presentations, and readings, as well as a haiku book fair and an art display. Come and meet editors, publishers, members of regional and national haiku organizations, and the people behind the names you read in haiku journals.

The early-bird discounted registration fee is $199 through June 30, 2013, for the full conference, including all events from Wednesday through Sunday's closing events (including Saturday's banquet dinner, the conference anthology, and a group photo), with an optional boat day cruise on Monday, August 19th, to Catalina Island (for an extra fee). Beginning July 1, 2013 the conference rates increase, so be sure to register now!

The local organizing committee has reserved a block of reasonably priced rooms on board the Queen Mary. Deluxe King Rooms or Deluxe Twin Rooms (outter rooms) are $129/night plus tax. Inside King Rooms or Inside Twin Rooms are $109/night plus tax. The Queen Mary has extended these reduced rates beginning 3 nights prior to the conference and continuing for 3 nights after the conference.

In the bar across the top of this page, hover your cursor over "2013 Conference" to see your options for more information, including how to register for the conference and how to place your guestroom reservation.

We hope you can join us for what promises to be another great Haiku North America conference

See you in Long Beach on board the Queen Mary!
