Hueston Woods Haiku Trail
Dedication
Sunday, July 2, 2023

Picture
Haiku North America, in conjunction with Ohio State Parks, is sponsoring the permanent installation of a haiku walk at Hueston Woods State Park in College Corner, Ohio (near Cincinnati). This trail will serve as a permanent memory of the HNA 2023 Conference. Selected poems will be installed by June of 2023 along a newly designated haiku trail (on the site of the park's current Sycamore Trail).

Submissions are now closed, and the Haiku North America board of directors is currently considering the haiku submitted.

On Sunday, July 2, 2023, as a post-conference event, there will be a dedication ceremony for the trail.  We will board a bus at the hotel entrance, promptly at 1:30 p.m., to travel to Heuston Woods State Park Donated by Patti Niehoff, the trail will present 18 poems, selected by the HNA Board, placed along a 0.7 mile woodsy path with views of a lake.  After the official ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony for the Trail, we will walk the Trail and read the poems.  This will be followed by a traditional summer picnic buffet dinner at the Lodge, overlooking the lake before returning to the hotel by 7:00 p.m.  Attire is very casual.  The Trail is flat and easy to walk.

This event is available for an additional $85 fee.
