HNA 2023 Urban Haiga
Call for Submissions
Deadline May 31, 2023
Have you written an urban haiga?
One of the sessions at this year’s conference will be a slideshow gallery of city-themed haiga and photo haiku, organized and presented by Linda Papanicolaou.
If you have an urban haiga, you are invited to submit. Attendees of HNA 2023 are particularly encouraged to submit, but all quality urban haiga will be considered. All media, from scanned original 2-D or 3-D artwork, digitally created images, and digital photography are welcome. What is important is that the urban experience should be central to the meaning. Topics might include urban infrastructure (buildings/streets and expressways/bridges/public transportation/parks and monuments), people, human occupations, celebrations, domestic animals/urban-adapted wildlife, or plants-street trees/rooftop gardens/public parks.
Instructions for submitting:
• Send 2 to 3 haiga or photo haiku in jpeg or png format to [email protected].
• If either the poem or the image is not your own work, please secure permission to use it and include proper credit information in your submission.
• If it has previously been published, include this information in your submission too.
• The deadline is May 31, 2023. Acceptance notices will be mailed soon after.
