Registration

See the PROGRAM.

We are eager to have you join us in San Francisco for the 2025 Haiku North America conference. Here’s how to register.

  1. Choose the days you plan to attend (we recommend the full conference).
  2. Choose options, such as pre- and post-conference add-on outings or extra anthologies.
  3. Fill out the online registration form.
  4. Submit your registration payment.
  5. Book your accommodations at the Holiday Inn.
 
Registration Fees
You can register for the full conference or for individual days. All paid registrations include a copy of our conference anthology, a registration packet, a copy of the group photo, and all presentation sessions for the days chosen. The following rates came into effect on July 16, 2025. You can still register online up until September 23, or you can register in person when the conference starts on September 24. Register today!

  • $385 — September 24–28, 2025 — FULL CONFERENCE
  • Free — Wednesday, September 24 (evening reception and welcome)
  • $145 — Thursday, September 25
  • $145 — Friday, September 26
  • $145 — Saturday, September 27 presentations only (no banquet)
  • $220 — Saturday, September 27 presentations and banquet
  • $75 — Saturday, September 27 banquet only (for spouses/partners)
  • $70 — Sunday, September 28 (sessions conclude at lunchtime)
 
Optional Add-Ons
You can choose any of the following options (learn more about conference add-ons):

  • $30 — Mission District Mural Walking Tour (Wednesday morning/afternoon, September 24)
  • $30 — San Francisco Bay Cruise (Sunday afternoon, September 28)
  • Tanka Monday (September 29) — register separately on the Tanka Society of America website (but please select this option on the registration form to express interest)
  • $10 — Extra copies of the anthology (in addition to the free copy that all paid registrants receive)
  • Donations (HNA appreciates any amount to help us offset expenses and to help provide scholarships)
 
Registration
To register for the Haiku North America 2025 conference in San Francisco, fill in the online registration form. Please note that registration is not complete until we receive your payment. Please consider including a tax-deductible donation (HNA is a nonprofit corporation).

Payment
To pay by PayPal or with a credit card, please select your primary registration preference below and click the Add to Cart button. Selecting an item will add it to a PayPal cart in a new window. Keep both the PayPal and Registration windows open. To add multiple items, simply come back to this page and keep selecting and adding items with the same Add to Cart button. Please also consider adding a donation to help with expenses and our scholarship fund (you can increase the amount of your donation by changing the quantity increment in the PayPal window) — thank you.

Spouses/Partners: To have a spouse or partner attend the mural walk, the bay cruise, or join you at the banquet, please register them using the online registration form, and pay separately using the following button. To add multiple items, simply come back to this page and keep selecting and adding items with this Add to Cart button.

​An alternative (if the preceding buttons do not work for you) is to click the following button (please note that this button will call your payment a “donation”). You will need to calculate the total amount you need to pay and enter that amount. Please also enter a note (if PayPal gives you that option) listing what your payment is for. You may also use this button to make a donation in any amount, in addition to your conference registration choices.

Accommodations
To book your room at the Holiday Inn, where our events will take place, please visit our conference hotel page. Our conference rate is $219 per room (typically two beds) plus taxes, and you can apply this rate to dates before and after our conference. This rate is good until August 29, 2025, or until rooms sell out. We expect rooms to sell out, so book early.
 
Note: The hotel may be able to provide rooms for more than two people staying with an extra bed; please ask the hotel directly about this option (phone recommended).

Fortune Cookie Haiku Contest
We invite everyone who registers by June 30, 2025 [EXTENDED to July 15, 2025], to submit to our fortune cookie haiku contest (for registered attendees only). See haiku contest guidelines. Submissions are now closed.
 
Anthology Reminder
The submission deadline for the 2025 conference anthology (for registered attendees only) is August 10, 2025 (after this date, inclusion is possible but no longer guaranteed). See anthology submission guidelines.
 
Cancellations
Refunds of conference registration fees will be available at no charge until August 24, 2025, but after this date will be subject to a 20% penalty. If you need to cancel or alter your registration choices, please contact our registrar, David Grayson, at [email protected].
 
Scholarships
A limited number of scholarships were available, but funding has already been assigned.
 
HNA Merchandise
If you’re interested in purchasing HNA T-shirts, hats, or other merchandise, you can do so at any time through our merchandise page.
 
Mailing List
To join the HNA email list, please click to join (you can also click to join on our home page). Registered attendees for 2025 will automatically receive news and updates relating to the conference.
