Who Push Boundaries, with Kit Nakamura & kris moon kondo Haiga artists are invited to submit work to be discussed, by the deadline of September 20. This will be an exchange of ideas, and a breeze of inspiration, and even those poets who do not submit a haiga are welcome to join in. For submissions, please send work in JPEG or Word format to HNAHaiga@gmail.com Deadline: September 20 Collaborative work is fine. We are looking for a dance of words, combining images, space, colors, hues, or even just the poet’s signature, in highly personal, creative ways. Saturday October 9, 4:00 – 6:00 pm PDT HNA Workshop An Introduction to Haiku For those who might be new to haiku, please join HNA cofounder Michael Dylan Welch for a two-hour session on learning haiku targets. We will explore fundamental strategies for writing and appreciating haiku. Thursday Oct 14, 2021 4:00 pm Haiku North America's 30th Anniversary Celebration Since1991, HNA has been held every two years at various locations around North America. Our kick-off event for the 2021 conference celebrates HNA's 30th anniversary with a panel of HNA board members and past conference organizers. An open-mic reading will follow. The Ginko Walk will be conducted by Alan Pizzarelli and Donna Beaver Friday 7:00 pm PDT. Submit your haiku to ginkowalkhaiku@gmail.com before Saturday Oct 16th at noon. Submissions will be judged anonymously and the winners announced on Sunday afternoon Oct 17th. Rengay sessions are hosted by Garry Gay and Michael Dylan Welch Friday Oct 15 and Saturday Oct 16 at 6:30pm.
